Physical Sight and Spiritual Sight

Luke 17: 20-21:  “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:  Neither shall they say,  Lo here! or, lo there!  for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Luke 17: 30:  “Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.”  This Scripture does not say, when the Son of man is seen or observed (revelation knowledge is not the same thing as physical sight).

If someone reads the Bible, a newspaper article or a book with their physical eyes, this is not revelation.  When you come across a certain Scripture or a sentence in a newspaper article or a book and something is quickened in your spirit by the Holy Ghost—this is revelation from God.  The Lord is shining His light (revelation) upon that Scripture or that sentence—it may even be one word—so that we can better understand it.  Some people call this a Rhema Word or the Spoken Word.

“The kingdom of God cometh not with [physical] observation.”  The kingdom of God comes to purified vessels and is perceived by the spirit by the Holy Ghost.  It is a spiritual kingdom; it is not a physical kingdom that you can see with your physical eyes.

The Second Coming is not a physical Jesus coming through some physical clouds for His bride to be seen through the physical eyes.  The Second Coming is the Holy Ghost revealing the Lordship of Jesus Christ to purified vessels (dead to self) who can see with their spiritual eyes.  These people are not into the letter, but the Spirit, because the letter kills and the Spirit gives life.

Let’s say that the natural, unsaved man can see for twenty miles.  Your basic believer in Christ should be able to see for fifty miles (I am speaking figuratively).  The Christian believer is spiritually alive and should have spiritual insights that the unbeliever cannot have because the unbeliever is dead in his trespasses and sins.   Your basic prophetic Christian should be able to see one hundred miles or five hundred miles ahead of him--or you could say that the prophet can see five years or ten years or five hundred years into the future (this is why prophets are hated so much and are thought to be crazy—they see things way before other people see things and their lives and words convict people of sin).

Revelation from God is spiritual, but the Lord uses our physical bodies/senses/eyesight for His will.  The physical body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.  Our physical body/temple is used by the Lord, so that He can reveal His will to us, so that we can obey His will--this is how we develop and strengthen our spiritual sight.

In 2007, I bought my first pair of reading glasses.  As I get older, my physical sight (for reading) is growing weaker, but my spiritual sight is growing stronger.  I must decrease, so that He can increase.

Breaking off the Greek mindset

“The man whom Christ illuminates with His message has eyes, and that resolves the old difficulty of blindness; but he must use his new eyes in a blind world, and that creates another problem. The world in its blindness resents his claim to sight and will go to any lengths to discredit the claim. The truth of Christ brings assurance and so removes the former problem of fear and uncertainty, but that assurance will be interpreted as bigotry by the fear-ridden multitudes. And sooner or later this misunderstanding will get the man of God into trouble. And so with many other of the blessed benefits of the gospel. As long as we remain in this twisted world, these benefits will create their own problems. We cannot escape them.
But no instructed Christian will complain. He will rather accept his problems as opportunities for the exercise of spiritual virtues. He will turn them into useful disciplines for the purification of his life and will rejoice that he is permitted to suffer with his Lord. For however severe may be a Christian’s trials, they cannot last very long, and the blessed fruit they bear will last while the ages endure.”

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem

Luke 13: 34-35:  "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!  Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee."

O American Churchianity, which killest (reject) the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee.

When I think about Superstorm Sandy and the destruction of New York City and other parts of the eastern seaboard this past week, I can't help but think about a Christian I met in Nebraska back in 2008.  His name was LaVerle [Van Houten] and he picked me up hitchhiking three times in one month ("in the mouth of two or three witnesses let every word be established"--so LaVerle's picking me up three times in one month means something).

LaVerle worked in western Nebraska and, on his days off, he would use his own money and fly to New York City and do street ministry.  One of his last times in NYC, he met these two prophets.  They told LaVerle that they were pulling out of New York because people weren't repenting of their sin.

In my travels, I would have to say that New York City, San Francisco and Las Vegas are probably the most secular, Godless cities in the United States.  Superstorm Sandy was the Lord's judgment on a wicked city (NYC).

Years ago, I was hitchhiking through Tennessee and these two Christians picked me up and took me to Nashville.  They let me stay overnight at their place.  They took me to a restaurant for supper.

One of the guys looked at me, smiled and said, "Nashville, Tennessee:  a church on every corner."

I looked at him and didn't say anything.

How many Christian churches are in New York City?  How many people in New York City are surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ?

Luke 13: 35:  "Behold, your house is left unto you desolate."

Luke 13: 33:  "Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following:  for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem."

For it cannot be that a prophet perish out of American Churchianity.

II Kings 17: 13-14:  "Yet the LORD testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.  Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the LORD their God."

Dreams from the LORD 2007-2010
10 February 2009

Last night I had a dream where I was reading this newspaper. In small headlines I saw something like “LaVerle Van Houten is in Peru.”

Dreams from the LORD 2007-2010
1 March 2009

Two days ago, I hitchhiked from Helena, Montana to Murdo, South Dakota. Yesterday, I hitchhiked from Murdo to Chadron, Nebraska. It was around O degrees F when I started walking south out of Murdo on U.S. 83. I walked around four miles and then got a ride to Mission, South Dakota. Ice had formed on my eyebrows, so I was very grateful to finally get a ride.

After Mission, I walked south a few miles and got a ride in the back of a pickup to Valentine, Nebraska. I checked my e-mail at the public library in Valentine and then started walking west on U.S. 20. I then got a ride to Chadron.

On the way east from Montana, I thought, “It would be great if LaVerle saw me walking down the road.” I got dropped off on the west side of Chadron and walked over a half mile heading west when guess who picked me up? LaVerle.

The Lord works in strange ways. I told LaVerle that this is the fourth time he has picked me up. He just got back from a mission trip to Peru. He flew back to Houston, then to Denver and drove back to western Nebraska the day before. LaVerle was in Peru for a month. He drove me to a Taco John’s restaurant and bought me something to eat. We talked for quite some time.

One of the important things that LaVerle said was that the Lord told him not to go back to New York City. LaVerle has been to New York several times on mission trips. He told me that a number of prophets have pulled out of New York because people aren’t repenting of sin and destruction is coming.

I told LaVerle that the Lord had me hitchhike from Ames, Iowa to New York City (actually, I hitchhiked to New Hamburg, New York and took a train the rest of the way into Manhattan) in 1998. I visited David Wilkerson’s church at Times Square. I was in the sanctuary for two hours and I started weeping in the Spirit. I left the church building (formerly the Mark Hellinger Theater) and the Holy Ghost fell powerfully on me. I walked to the Hudson River. I believe the Lord was telling me not to go back to David Wilkerson’s church. That evening I went back to the seven o’clock service and the Lord chastened me for being there. Something must have been out of order; the leadership of that church (not necessarily David Wilkerson) may have been resisting the Holy Ghost.

I can go to a church of believers, but if they reject the power of the Holy Ghost, then it is a sin for me to be there. “Come out from among them and be ye separate.” “They had a form of Godliness, but denied the power thereof; from such turn away.” “Obedience is better than sacrifice.”

I crawled into a sleeper of a tractor-trailer outside of Chadron and slept there last night. It got down to 20 degrees F, but it felt colder.

The God of Perfect Timing

In my hitchhiking travels, I think it is amazing how I seem to show up at the right place at the right time.  Around the end of September, I hitchhiked into the Kooskia, Idaho neighborhood from Montana and stayed at my friends' place for a couple of nights.  Kim had mentioned to his wife a day or two before that he wished Tim would show up so that he could help him put some rafters up for his new wood shop he was building.  I helped put rafters on his roof for a day or two and then I hit the road.

A few days later, I showed up at my friends' place in northern California.  A few days after I arrived, I helped them vaccinate 95 calves in Nevada.  It was perfect timing; they appreciated one extra guy running the calves through the corral and down the chute.  Back in 2010, I arrived a day before we had to brand over a hundred calves near Fall River Mills, California.

Just yesterday, I hitchhiked from southern Oregon to northern California.  Later that day, I helped vaccinate 120 calves.  Today I helped preg test and vaccinate 150 cows.  God's timing is always perfect.

Those who are led by the Spirit shall be called sons.

We Are Going Up To Jerusalem . . .

This is from The Mission blog:

"He (Jesus) said to them (His disciples), Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem..." (Luke 18:31)

Oswald Chambers writes: "Jerusalem, in the life of our Lord , represents the place where He reached the culmination of His Father's will.  Jesus said, "I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent me." (John 5:30).  The greatest thing for us to remember is that we go up to Jerusalem to fulfill God's purpose, not our own.  Remember Jesus said, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you.  (John 15:16)."

My prayer.  Dear Heavenly Father I ask you in the name of Jesus that you'd keep pushing me, pulling me, driving me to go with you to Jerusalem, to seek your compelling purpose, never allowing me to falter or turn my sights on anything else but Christ and going with Him.  I can and will do this by your great grace through faith in the accomplished work of the cross. Amen!

Comments:

Tim Shey:

"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem." "Take up your cross and follow Me." When you obey the Lord, you die to self and, in my experience, you will be delivered of many demons.

Too many people go to church to fulfill some social contract. They go to church to run away from God and so that they don't have to deal with their besetting sins. They go to church, so that they don't have to go to Jerusalem--the death of the cross--dying to self--so that the Lord can be glorified in their life of self denial.

Self-willed church people have never gone to Jerusalem: dying to self is too abhorrent to them.

Traveler (Randy):

Wow, Tim I never saw it like that before, "They go to church to run away from God...They go to church, so they don't have to go to Jerusalem." So revealing and frankly it leaves me with a great impression to ponder this deeper. I tremble in fear before our Lord.... But for the grace of God go I... Dear Lord in Jesus' name please by your grace never leave me to my own will and devices... Pull me lead me, put an aul in my ear, a yoke on my neck. Lead to Jerusalem, to the cross each day. It is all about you and not about me. Be it unto me according to your will. Amen!

Luke 18: 31-34:  "Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplishedFor he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:  And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.  And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

"And they understood none of these things:  and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

It is rare for the Lord to reveal Himself (His will/wisdom/knowledge) to a vessel that is not surrendered to Christ and that does not die to self.  The rain from heaven (revelation knowledge) is gratefully soaked into fallow, humble ground--dead to self will.

I Corinthians 2: 14-16:  "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

Immigration: Doing It The Right Way

This is from Bill Patchett's Conservative View Point blog:

Sometime ago, when I was in the electrical business full time, I answered a service call in the town of Federalsburg, which is located in the tax and spend state of Maryland. I had the opportunity to meet an elderly lady who owned the house and lived there by herself. She was a very nice lady, who reminded me of every good thing that people should be. When we entered her house it was like going back in time. She was, in fact, American as any person could be. My son who was with me on the call said that she was remarkable for her age. She must have been in her late eighties.

While we were there fixing her electric problems we noticed that she had Fox News on the TV and they were showing illegal Mexicans coming across the southern border of our country. The elderly woman was watching and listening to the story. After the news story ended she turned and with tears in her eyes, said: "This is not the way my husband and I came to this country"  I asked her if she was okay and that is when she pointed, without saying a word, at two framed documents on the wall that were side by side. One had her deceased husbands name on it and the other had her name on it. I then noted the location on the wall were they were and they were put so anybody, who entered her house, could see them.

The framed documents were certificates showing that the lady and her husband were from Romania and had immigrated to this country in 1945 by entering Ellis Island and had fulfilled all the unnecessary requirements to enter this country. One of those requirements was to learn the English language and to study the history of this country. She spoke perfect English. If she did not tell me that she was not born in this country I would not known it. She was as American As a person could be.

As we finished the job she offered me coffee and as I sat there with her she told me about some of her life. She came from a country that was poor, no jobs, no opportunities to make things better. She said when she came to this country she considered herself blessed. She did not bring Romania with her to be a part of this country. She wanted to be an American, not change America. Her husband and her never asked once for help or assistance of any kind. They worked different jobs, bought their self a house, and just blended in, to become a part of America and her ideals.  I walked out of that house blessed, thankful to have met this woman. I thanked God that I met this woman and was allowed to hear her story of the American dream that came true.

A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Wilderness Road: Part 2

This is from Rick Fry's blog:

Acts 8:26-40

26 Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” (This is a wilderness road.) 27 So he got up and went.

When I was in my early twenties I hitchhiked across the United States. I can’t explain the exact motivation. I wanted to see my cousin in Arizona, but that’s not why I left. The only way to come close to an explanation is to say that I had a sort of fever, or that I felt like a wild animal with its paw caught in a trap- I’d gnaw my hand off to escape my hometown and to get out onto the road.

I was feeling the desperation and restlessness of my age, the awful yearnings that are most acutely felt during youth. I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I had the sense that time was fleeting, and that any hope of discovering something larger than myself, any justification for my living and breathing in this world, had to be found not just now, but NOW.

I was searching for unnamable things. My spirit soared with my thirst and ambition, a desire to reach up higher and higher in search of these things. I knew they were not to be found in my Ohio hometown, but out in the Western Plains somewhere, or out past the Continental Divide, or maybe in Arizona near my cousin. And if they weren’t in any of these places, well, to hell with it, I’d go further and further west until I reached the Pacific. And if what I was searching for wasn’t there either, I’d hitchhike south, maybe into Mexico or something. With the wind cutting through my hair, hitching a ride in the back of some stranger’s pick up truck, I would single handedly wrest these things from the hand of God.

One day I was standing by the side of the road in the Nebraska Panhandle, close to where I-76 and I-80 diverge. I got a couple of offers from people heading down 80 to Cheyenne. But I wanted to take 76 and work my way south towards Arizona. Finally after a couple of hours of waiting, a tough-looking man with a haggardly beard pulled over on the side of the road. He was wearing well worn blue jeans and a black Harley Davidson T-shirt. I was a little hesitant to get in the car with him. He told me he was heading to Colorado, but that he had to stop in Sidney, Nebraska first. I decided to take the ride and we headed west. We rode to Sidney, but when we left town he told me there was a state highway that led to Denver. I didn’t want to leave the heavily populated interstate for some deserted highway. Who knows where he would take me. But what could I do? We left the interstate and we drove out into the wilderness. I gazed upon beauty that I couldn’t see from the interstate. The expansiveness of the west Nebraska plains was awesome. The setting sun in this land was breathtaking.

But as we drove, my travel partner began talking to me about the Bible. It quickly grew bizarre, as he explained his odd rapture theology. I was a little freaked out, talking about the Anti-Christ and apocalypse, but at the same time I felt safer. He was talking theology. I knew he wasn’t going to harm me. He was a lonely man who wanted someone to talk to about God. Like me, he didn’t have time for small talk. He was, in his own way, searching for those unnamable things. There wasn’t any epiphany, as there was for the eunuch that Philip met on the road. No great revelation. No chariot--just his rusted old Chevy.

But there was, for a short time, fellowship, a human connection, and a mutually felt desire to touch the hand of God. I wasn’t much different from him. I was certainly just as lonely. That’s what searching for things you can never grasp will do to you. On this wilderness road we were both alien travelers in a world we didn’t belong to.

It was night when he dropped me off in South Denver. I felt a little disoriented, buzzing on the after effects of his strange theology. But I thanked him for the ride and we wished each other well. I zipped up my jacket to protect myself from the cold mountain air and pressed on in the night. The Denver city skyline was at my back. Streetlights were shining above me.

Some Commentary on the Jackson, Wyoming Fire (2012)

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Here is some commentary published in the JH Weekly about the Jackson, Wyoming Fire (Horsethief Canyon Fire):

Props and Disses: 9.19.12

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

By Jake Nichols

We didn’t start the fire, God did - DISS

.
Many valley residents prayed during the early stages of the Horsethief Canyon Fire. Some East Jackson residents prayed that their home be spared. Some prayed for the safety of the firefighters. Remember the religious group that came to Jackson this spring to fight for the unborn? They prayed we’d burn down.
.
To be fair, only a select few have been spotted in the blogosphere practically cheering the wildfire. Some even believed their prayers brought it upon our town – a Sodomite Jackson getting its comeuppance. At one blogspot run by Tim Shey, the hitchhiking prophet, the following entry appeared on Monday, September 10, the day rain began to fall on the fire:
.
“I prayed: ‘Lord, if it be Your will to put judgment on Jackson, please stop the rain.’ Five to 10 minutes later it stopped. Then I felt led to pray: ‘Lord, if it be Your will, gust the wind. Send wind. Lord, if it is Your will, gust the wind to 40 mph.’ It went from calm to windy. Currently, it is gusting so strong that it blew a planter off my outside table!”
.
The blogger continued: “My four-and-a-half-year-old sang prophetically ‘God! The evil people deserve to die.’ Jackson has been warned three times. Tomorrow is 9-11, a day of Judgment! A Day for Jackson’s Judgment. He comes like a thief in the night! We serve a God who answers with FIRE! Amen! Our family is safe and is out of the path of the fire! Praise Jesus!”
.
Judging from the comment section, this guy is not alone in his belief that the Horsethief Canyon Fire is being used by or was sent by God to smite Jackson for being pro-choice.
.
I don’t mean to berate or belittle this blogger, or any of the other zealots that visited Jackson in May who share the sentiment. But a rebuking may be in order. I am a believer. God, who commanded the universe into existence, is certainly capable of whipping up a 4,000-acre wildfire to teach a town a lesson. Jesus Christ, who died and rose from the dead to offer salvation from sin by the perfect sacrifice, can easily sic a fire on an ungodly town if He desired.
.
But making these outlandish claims in His name only serve to give Christians a bad name.

Christopher Stevens: A Useful Idiot

Christopher Stevens

This was sent to me from Randy Sheets; it is absolutely brilliant:

Christopher Stevens Feeds the Crocodile
By Daniel Greenfield

[It was originally published in Front Page Magazine]

Winston Churchill once said, “An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile hoping it will eat him last.” On September 11, Christopher Stevens, a career diplomat, became one of the first Americans in Libya to feed the crocodile of Ansar Al-Sharia and learned too late that while appeasers may hope to be eaten last, they are often eaten first.

Christopher Stevens was a Middle Eastern diplomat who typified the new breed going from the University of Berkeley and the Peace Corps to desks in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Syria. He taught English to Moroccan children in the Peace Corps and helped Palestinian Arabs in the East Jerusalem Consulate, which has a firm policy of pretending that Israel does not exist.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said of Christopher Stevens that he “made other people’s hopes his own” and that may serve as a fitting eulogy both for Stevens and for the disastrous foreign policy of making “other people’s hopes” our own that brought on the Arab Spring.

Stevens, like Clinton and Obama, made the hopes of Islamists his own and they repaid him for it, just as Afghans repaid America for supporting them against the Soviet Union, as Lebanon and Somalia repaid America’s peacekeeping efforts by killing American troops and on down the litany of gratitude in bombs and bullets that have come America’s way from the Muslim world.

“He risked his life to stop a tyrant, then gave his life trying to build a better Libya,” Hillary Clinton said, but if anything his murder exposed the lie that there is a better Libya now than there was before Hillary and he intervened in Libya. Clinton’s eulogy comes perilously close to conceding Stevens’ real mission and the degree of American intervention in the overthrow of Gaddafi.

Stevens was the connection between the Islamist Benghazi rebels and the Obama administration’s illegal war to overthrow Gaddafi. His mission, like the true mission of the war, was secret, and the consulate, marginally fortified and devoid of Marines, reflected that secrecy. Stevens did not think that he had anything to fear from the Islamists because they were his friends.

In the Wikileaks cables, Stevens cheerfully described fighters who saw “resistance against coalition forces in Iraq” as “an important act of ‘jihad’” and local businessmen who took pride in the number of suicide bombers who had come out of the area. For years he had walked safely in their company without understanding that he was just as much of a target as a Marine in Baghdad, but without the training, the weapons or the survival skills.

The only reason Christopher Stevens had lasted this long is that the jihadist fighters had known a useful man when they met him. And Stevens proved to be very useful, but his usefulness ended with Gaddafi’s death. Once the US successfully overthrew Gaddafi and began focusing on stabilizing Libya, Stevens ceased to be a useful idiot and became a useless nuisance. Attacks soon followed on the Benghazi consulate and on other consulates as well, but the Marines were not brought in and Stevens continued relying on local goodwill to secure his offices. It was only a matter of time until the attackers got through.

Clinton, her State Department and its media allies appear unnaturally eager to paint Christopher Stevens as an American martyr to the cause of Libyan Islamism, a kinder, gentler Rachel Corrie who willingly died so that the Islamists might have their dream of an Islamic state in Libya.

We will of course never know what was going through Christopher Stevens’ mind on September 11, 2012, as he battled the choking smoke, experiencing what so many New Yorkers had experienced on September 11, 2001. Like them, he was faced with a terrible dilemma, a choice between remaining in the fire and committing suicide by going outside.

Many in the World Trade Center chose to jump to their deaths, but Christopher Stevens chose to remain inside and die rather than face the tender mercies of his attackers. Stevens had spent enough time in Libya to have seen what the jihadist fighters did to their captives and must have known what horrors he could expect at their hands. The photos that have been released, along with claims by Libyan jihadists that they sexually assaulted his corpse, suggest that he made the right choice. And perhaps in those final moments, facing that terrible choice, Christopher Stevens finally understood the true horror of the Muslim world that he had fallen in love with as a Peace Corps volunteer.

“He was an avid student of Islam and the Middle East, and consistently strove to build the proverbial bridge between our two cultures in the face of sometimes overwhelming antagonism and bitter misunderstanding,” a friend from the diplomatic service tells us. But though Christopher Stevens may have studied Islam, he had learned very little about it, and so his final lesson was the bloody one that Westerners who never really learn what Islam is about end up receiving.

“The world needs more Chris Stevenses,” Hillary Clinton said, but does it really? Does it need more tall dead blond Americans lying bloodied in the gutters of Muslim cities? Does it need men who give up the hopes and dreams of their country to take on the dreams of their enemies without ever realizing where the fatal road of those dreams leads?

Stevens’ former Peace Corps colleague says of him, “Chris devoted his career, and life, to improving relations between the Arabic/Islamic world and the West.” That he did and he died doing it, losing whatever career or life he might have had if he had not embarked on a futile errand to make the Muslims who killed him and paraded around his body like him. And like all those who have died over the years in the same cause, the effort was to no avail.

“It’s especially tragic that Chris Stevens died in Benghazi because it is a city that he helped to save,” Obama said, repeating the same lie that he used to drag America into his illegal war. Benghazi was not in any need of saving, it was the Americans who came to Benghazi, like Chris Stevens, who needed saving.

That is the terrible blind spot in our vision which, like Christopher Stevens, tells us that we need to save the Muslims who hate us, rather than showing us that we need to save ourselves.

Jackson, Wyoming Fire, 2012

Wildfire South of Jackson, Wyoming

[This email was sent to me yesterday]

Hello Dear Saints,

This is [name deleted] in Jackson Hole, WY! I was born in Jackson and lived here most of my life! Fire is not a typical problem in our area!

Saturday 9/8 a small fire broke out South of Jackson [Horsethief Canyon Fire]. It was quickly pushed away from the homes into national forest. This fire is doubling everyday. At first moving west, but it has curved around and back behind Jackson. This morning the sky was black and dark with rain clouds and moisture was in the air. As it rained I felt a burden to pray 'His Will". I prayed...

"Lord if it be Your Will to put judgment on Jackson,
Please stop the rain...if it be your will
I pray Your Will be done here with this fire.
I Pray that you will send 100's of Millions of Angel here to do Your will!"

5-10 minutes later the rain stopped!

The sky is blue and there are NO clouds that look of rain! In fact it is cloudless.

SO then I felt led to pray...

"Lord if it be your will gust the wind. Send wind.
Lord if it is your will gust the wind to 40 mph"

It went from calm to windy. Currently it is gusting so strong that it blew a planter off my outside table!

Right Now the fire is on the Ridge of Snow King Mountain. The fire has burned at least 2,040 acres and is being fought with three helicopters, eight engines, two crews — which are typically 20 firefighters each — and one bulldozer. One firefighting truck was burned Saturday night. A total of 112 persons are engaged in the battle, the U.S. Forest Service incident command said at its Inciweb site for the blaze.

An evacuation advisory remains in effect for east Jackson south of Broadway and east of Redmond, including the Vine Street-Snow King area. No evacuation order has been given.

Jackson Has been warned 3 times. This past May. The Churches banded together to stop the move of God. If the Christian would repent for their sin His mercy would be great. If the pagans would reject abortion and repent by asking for His forgiveness, He would spare them!

[In May of this year there were anti-abortion demonstrations in Jackson, Wyoming by Missionaries to the PreBorn and Operation Save America. These demonstrations were met with much hate speech by many of the people of Jackson.]

My 4 1/2 year old sang prophetically "God! The evil people deserve to die. The good people deserve to live!" Yes, He is sending the wicked great trouble tonight.

The Lord is birthing in me a burden to Pray Prophetically! To release Him to move Here!

Tomorrow is 9/11 a day of Judgment! A Day for Jackson's Judgment. He comes like a thief in the night!
We serve a God who answers with FIRE! Amen!

Our family is safe and is out of the path of the fire! Praise Jesus!

Above is a very prophetic photograph.  The Horsethief Canyon Fire started in the ravine just to the right of my head.

Genesis 18: 16:  “And the men rose up thence, and looked toward Sodom.”

Genesis 18: 20-22:  "And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;   I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.   And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD."

Genesis 19:  27-28:  "And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:  And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and behold, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace."

We didn’t start the fire, God did - DISS

Many valley residents prayed during the early stages of the Horsethief Canyon Fire. Some East Jackson residents prayed that their home be spared. Some prayed for the safety of the firefighters. Remember the religious group that came to Jackson this spring to fight for the unborn? They prayed we’d burn down.

“I prayed: ‘Lord, if it be Your will to put judgment on Jackson, please stop the rain.’ Five to 10 minutes later it stopped. Then I felt led to pray: ‘Lord, if it be Your will, gust the wind. Send wind. Lord, if it is Your will, gust the wind to 40 mph.’ It went from calm to windy. Currently, it is gusting so strong that it blew a planter off my outside table!”

Judging from the comment section, this guy is not alone in his belief that the Horsethief Canyon Fire is being used by or was sent by God to smite Jackson for being pro-choice.

But making these outlandish claims in His name only serve to give Christians a bad name.

You Can't Make This Stuff Up

A number of years ago, I was hitchhiking in Kansas.  I was walking on U.S. 54 somewhere west of Pratt.  This guy pulled over to give me a ride.

The first thing he said was, "I am a pastor.  How may I help you?"

At first, I thought, sounds like a canned speech.  Then I replied, "I'm just heading west.  Thanks for picking me up."

As we talked, he mentioned that he used to be a farmer, but he wasn't making a very good living as a farmer, so he thought he would become a pastor.  He told me that he was going to play some golf with some other pastors that afternoon.

So this guy is a pastor, not because he was called of the Lord, but so he could make more money.  And I thought I had heard of everything.

He told me that it would be better if he had a congregation of one thousand where everyone gave 20 dollars per week rather than a congregation of one hundred where everyone gave 100 dollars per week.  I have never thought of it quite like that before.  A guy can get all kinds of sound financial advice hitchhiking the country.

I told him something like the Lord had delivered me of a lot of demons and I was very grateful for what the Lord had done in my life.  All of sudden, this frown formed on his face and he started yelling at me.  He then dropped me off at this gas station.  Looks like I was casting pearls before swine.

I hope his golf game is much better than his preaching.

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.

This is Sodom! This is Sodom!

"The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah" by John Martin,1852

25 August 2012

Today I was hitchhiking north on U.S. 395 and was dropped off at Davis Creek, California.  I got a hamburger and something to drink at the country store in Davis Creek.  From Davis Creek I continued walking north.

It seemed like it was a slow day for getting rides.  I walked a few miles and began to run out of water.  It was very warm (around 86 degrees F) and the air was smoky from all of the wildfires in the northern California-eastern Oregon neighborhood.  Last night, as I slept in my sheepherder's camper at my friends' place, the air seemed smokier than usual (the air has been smoky for most of the past month).

I stopped walking and began to wonder why it was taking me so long to get to Lakeview, Oregon.  Then I realized that the Lord was delaying me for a reason (Jesus Christ is Lord over my hitchhiking).

I stood there on the side of the road for quite some time.  Then this older lady in an old pickup pulled over to give me a ride.

She told me, as the conversation progressed, that she was born in England during the war (World War II); her dad was in the Air Force.  They moved to California when she was one year old.  She did most of the talking.  It was difficult to understand her at times; she seemed slightly eccentric.

She was talking and then she started complaining about all of the smoke in the air and all of the wildfires.  Then she exclaimed, "This is Sodom!  This is Sodom!"

I replied, "Yeah, there is a lot of sin in this country."  (I mentioned the sins of abortion and homosexuality)

She told me that she was a believer.  She also said that there were too many churches that didn't believe there was a devil.  She had a Bible on the dashboard of her pickup.  She mentioned Proverbs 20: 18, so I took her Bible and read that verse out loud ("Every purpose is established by counsel:  and with good advice make war.")

She talked some more and then exclaimed again, "This is Sodom!  This is Sodom!"

I again nodded in agreement.  I don't know how many times she said "This is Sodom!", but I knew that she was repeating it for a reason.  "In the mouth of two or three witnesses, let every word be established."  I knew that the Lord had her pick me up so that I could hear what she had to say.

Three or four times she reminded me to pass her message on to others.  I told her that I would do that.  She dropped me off near the county courthouse in Lakeview.

Out of the mouths of babes, sucklings and eccentric people, Thou has perfected praise.  "The Lord uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise."

The Lord had that lady pick me up.  She kept repeating, "This is Sodom!"  What does this mean?  Maybe the drought and wildfires are just the beginning of sorrows for the United States.  Maybe more judgment is coming.  This is a perverse generation.

Genesis 19: 24-28:

"Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;  And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:  And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace."

Ezekiel 14: 13: "Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it."

Ezekiel 15: 7-8: "And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, saith the Lord GOD."

Ezekiel 16: 20-21: "Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?"
