God and Government

Dreams from the LORD 2003-2006

Revelation 2: 26-27: "And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father."

How can a man govern a nation, a state or a city if he can't govern himself? Adam--before the Fall--was able to govern the Garden of Eden because he was full of the glory of God. There were no demons in his body or his soul--he was not hamstrung or crippled by besetting sin. The more a man overcomes sin (demons) in his body and soul, the more he can govern the heavenlies and the earth.

If a president of a nation lies, steals, commits adultery or murder, it would be hard for him to govern effectively. His sin shall find him out. Nobody is squeaky clean; we are all born into sin, but if we abide in Christ, He can deliver us from so much bondage. The less bondage in our body and soul, the more the Holy Ghost can flow through us and effectively govern those around us. No God, no government. And if Satan dominates our lives, then we become slaves to a dictator.

Being conformed to Christ is not merely being born again. Being conformed to Christ is dying to self over many years. In patience possess ye your souls. Resting in Christ, abiding in Christ through trials and triumphs. Working out your salvation with fear and trembling. Sanctification is a continuing and gradual process.
