The Life We Live Determines the World We See

This is from the blog A Word in Season:

The Thin Vail

“While we look not at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal;
but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
(2 Corinthians 4:18)

Two lives and two worlds. In order to behold one, the other must die. The temporal carnal life beholds the temporal and visible world thus concealing the spiritual. The life in the Spirit brings a daily dying to the carnal life thus revealing that which is unseeable. There is no middle ground.

“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king:
for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible”
(Hebrews 11:27)

The forsaking of Egypt was the response of one who began to see his true calling, the ability to endure faithfully is by the organ of faith which makes the invisible known. The rending of the vail within our own hearts will always be in proportion to our embrace of the cross of Christ.

The life we live
determines the world we see
