The Prophetic Significance of Super Bowl 51

Yesterday, the New England Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime.  It was probably the greatest Super Bowl in the history of the NFL.  The Patriots at one time were behind 28 to 3 in the third quarter and came back and won the game.  It was the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history.

I was rooting for the Falcons because they beat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game.  I wanted the Packers to go all the way to the Super Bowl, but they didn't quite make it.  So I thought I would go with the Falcons, because I thought it was time that they won their first Super Bowl.

This most recent Super Bowl reminds me of Donald Trump's campaign for the presidency.  On election night, he was behind Hillary Clinton and then eventually pulled out a big win---maybe the most revolutionary win in the history of the United States.  I believe that the Trump Revolution will go down in history as being much more significant and far-reaching than the Reagan Revolution of the 1980s.  How can a non-politician and a non-military general like Donald Trump win the presidency of the United States?  It was the hand of God.

The Trump White House will go through some rough times in the next few months and maybe into the next two years, but the Lord will see that President Trump will be vindicated.  There will be many great victories for American Judaeo-Christianity during the next eight years of Trump's Presidency.

Side note:  A week ago, President Trump predicted that the Patriots would win by eight points.  Some Christians believe that President Trump has a prophetic anointing.  I believe this, also.  A prophet in the White House:  no wonder Satan and left-wing politicians, academics and media hate him so much.

God bless President Trump and congratulations to Coach Belichick, quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

Was the Alabama Victory over Notre Dame Prophetic?

Last night I watched the University of Alabama football team run over the University of Notre Dame, 42-14, for the national title.  I probably watched ten minutes of the game.  I am not a follower of Alabama football, but I was rooting for Alabama to win the game.  It was one of the most complete and overwhelming victories in a college football championship game that I have ever seen.

If this victory is prophetic, what does it mean?  The United States has a federal government that is huge, over-reaching and oppressive.  There is a lot of sin in this country.  If people don’t want God in their lives, then the Lord will give them big, oppressive government.  If you don’t want God, you can have the devil.

Several years ago, I was reading a Christian website and someone gave a prophecy that said, “the South will rise again.”  Does this mean that the Confederacy of the Old South will be revived?  No.  I believe this prophecy means that states rights will become a dominant force in our nation’s political and social life.  I believe that certain governors and state legislatures will assert their power and prevent the federal government’s abuses on their people–like ObamaCare.  Barack Obama is another King George III.

The University of Notre Dame represents centralized government.  Ultimately, the Vatican City in Rome has some say in the existence of Notre Dame.  The name “Notre Dame” is French:  Notre Dame was named after a Catholic cathedral in France.  France represents foreign influence or foreign entanglements.

The University of Alabama represents states rights.  The Governor of Alabama and the State Board of Regents oversee the operations of the University of Alabama–not our federal government and not Rome.

I am not baiting Catholics here.  I was raised in a very Irish Catholic family and went to Catholic schools in my youth.  If this game had taken place in 1972, I would probably have rooted for Notre Dame.  I am not a Catholic, I am a Christian.  I don’t care for Roman Catholic structure, but I have met some very devoted Christians in the Catholic Church.

I am not a Southerner.  I was born and raised in Iowa (my favorite football team is Iowa State University).  When I saw the way Alabama ran all over Notre Dame, it really bore witness with my spirit.  It was as if Notre Dame wasn’t even there–and shouldn’t have been there in the first place.

I know that the Lord uses everyday circumstances to show us things and teach us things.  He who has ears to hear (spiritual hearing) will be able to hear what the Lord is saying.  I believe that the Lord used the Alabama victory to encourage American Christians that there will be victory over our abusive White House and federal government in the near future.  Praise the Lord!

For the past few weeks the Lord has been showing me “January 7th”.  It looks like the Lord wanted me to watch the Alabama-Notre Dame game.  God is in the details.

Last night the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl, 31 to 25. I believe the Green Bay victory was prophetic.

I hitchhike a lot, so I am not able to watch many football games. I wasn't planning on watching the Super Bowl, but a couple of days before the game, several people kept asking me "Where will you be during the Super Bowl?" or "Will you be able to watch the Super Bowl?" I didn't think the Super Bowl was that important, but I believe the Lord was speaking through these people for some reason. ("In the mouth of two or three witnesses, let every word be established." For the record: I enjoy college football more than professional football.) I watched the Super Bowl three years ago when the New York Giants won.

Yesterday I hitchhiked from Riverton, Wyoming to Victor, Idaho. I got to my friend's place in Victor just before the second half of the game got under way. I wanted the Packers to win and they won. I really don’t follow the Packers, but I tend to root for NFC teams in the Super Bowl.

This past season, the Packers had 15 players on injured reserve. They lost their starting cornerback (Charles Woodson) and their starting receiver (Donald Driver) in the first half of the Super Bowl. Even though the Packers were broke-down most of the season, they put it all together and won the Big Game.

Green Bay's receiver, Greg Jennings, was interviewed after the game (he scored two touchdowns). He kept saying, "God gets the glory, God gets the glory." Green Bay didn't have any real big stars (though Woodson is outstanding) with gigantic egos--they played as a team.

So if this victory by Green Bay is prophetic, what does it mean? At first glance, I would say that even if a Christian seems to be broke-down, the Spirit of God can still use him to do powerful things for the Kingdom. "When I am weak, then I am strong." The Lord loves to use the foolish things of this world to confound the wise; He loves to use the weak things of the world to defeat the strong. The Lord used Samson and the jawbone of an ass to kill and humiliate one thousand Philistines.

I believe for those who are truly surrendered to Christ, they will see great victories in their personal lives in 2011. The world may come crashing down all around them (the economy, the revolution in Egypt, bad decisions being made in state and federal government, etc.), but they will prevail against the world system in the Power of the Holy Ghost.

The Green Bay Packers were a broke-down team all season (lots of injured players), yet they won the Super Bowl. They lost some battles, but they won the war. If you think you are broken and beyond repair, watch and wait upon the Lord and He will shine brightly through your brokenness and inspire the lives around you.

Before a loaf of bread can be used for food, it needs to be broken first. We are called to be broken bread and poured-out wine to those who are hungering for spiritual food (manna from heaven, Jesus Christ). Take up your cross and let the Lord break you of your self-strength and self-will and watch how He will be glorified in your life. Your life then will nourish others.
