The Downfall of Babylon

Isaiah 66: 15-16: "For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many."

Jeremiah 51: 27-32: "Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers. Prepare against her the nations with the kings of the Medes, the captains thereof, and all the rulers thereof, and all the land of his dominion. And the land shall tremble and sorrow: for every purpose of the LORD shall be performed against Babylon, to make the land of Babylon a desolation without an inhabitant. The mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they have remained in their holds: their might hath failed; they became as women: they have burned her dwellingplaces; her bars are broken. One post shall run to meet another, and one messenger to meet another, to shew the king of Babylon that his city is taken at one end, And that the passages are stopped, and the reeds they have burned with fire, and the men of war are affrighted."

Jeremiah 51: 54-58: "A sound of a cry cometh from Babylon, and great destruction from the land of the Chaldeans: Because the LORD hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered: Because the spoiler is come upon her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men are taken, every one of their bows is broken: for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite. And I will make drunk her princes, and her wise men, her captains, and her rulers, and her mighty men: and they shall sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts. Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The broad walls of Babylon shall be utterly broken, and her high gates shall be burned with fire; and the people shall labour in vain, and the folk in the fire, and they shall be weary."

Babylon is a spiritual city whose influence covers the whole earth. The king of Babylon is Satan. The gates of this city are the strategies of Satan. These strategies of Satan are destroyed by the power of the Holy Ghost--the Holy Ghost Fire that flows freely through those who are truly surrendered to the Lord Jesus Christ (see Intercession and Paga).

Jeremiah 51: 58: ". . . her high gates [long-term strategies] shall be burned with fire [Holy Ghost Fire]."

We are Not Ignorant of his Devices

Dreams from the LORD 2003-2006
25 July 2006

2 Corinthians 2: 11: “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

Job 5: 12: “He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.”

Esther 8: 3: “And Esther spake yet again before the king, and fell down at his feet, and besought him with tears to put away the mischief of Haman the Agagite, and his device that he had devised against the Jews.”

“We are not ignorant of his devices.” This is true of the Word of God, but not true with most church people I meet. Satan has done an excellent job of infiltrating Christian churches with false doctrines to the point that these churches become conformed to the world (spiritual death). Revelation knowledge destroys the gates (the strategies) of Satan. I remember I had fellowship with an elderly woman back in Ames, Iowa in the late 1980s and early 1990s. She was definitely baptized in the Holy Ghost. She stood up in this church and said, “If the Devil walked into this church, nobody would know it!” Amen. I went to that church two or three times: the power of the Holy Ghost (revelation) was not there.

The power of the Holy Ghost unblinds and unshackles us so that we are better able to learn of and defeat the strategies of Satan.

Speaking of perverting the Scriptures, let's examine what Satan does with these scriptures:

Genesis 2:16-17: "And the LORD God [Yahweh elohim] commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Genesis 3:1: "Now the serpent was more subtil [more cunning] than any beast of the field which the LORD God [Yahweh elohim] had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God [elohim] said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

Not only did Satan deceptively attack God's authority with a question, but look how Satan addresses the LORD God: "Yea, hath God said . . .?" In the Hebrew, "God" has a different meaning than "LORD God". When Satan uses "God" in his question to Eve, he nullifies what the Lord God commanded Adam and Eve. To address God as LORD God shows proper respect; to use the word "God" is not the same thing. Satan is being very disrespectful to the LORD God in this scripture.

"Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" That is a lie (Satan is the father of lies): the first lie in Bible that caused Adam and Eve to fall and bring sin and death into the earth. The LORD God never said, "Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden". The LORD God said, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Satan is diabolically brilliant on how he twists words to confuse people and to get his way--in this case--to get his way with Eve. And notice, he tempts Eve (who was the weaker vessel). Eve partakes of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and then gives the fruit to Adam and then they fall into sin. The sin of Adam was passivity. All he had to do was say, "Eve, don't listen or talk to this creature (Satan or Lucifer). We don't eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil because this is the LORD God's command to us."
