God and Government

Dreams from the LORD 2003-2006
18 June 2005

Revelation 2: 26-27: "And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father."

How can a man govern a nation, a state or a city if he can't govern himself? Adam--before the Fall--was able to govern the Garden of Eden because he was full of the glory of God. There were no demons in his body or his soul--he was not hamstrung or crippled by besetting sin. The more a man overcomes sin (demons) in his body and soul, the more he can govern the heavenlies and the earth.

If a president of a nation lies, steals, commits adultery or murder, it would be hard for him to govern effectively. His sin shall find him out. Nobody is squeaky clean; we are all born into sin, but if we abide in Christ, He can deliver us from so much bondage. The less bondage in our body and soul, the more the Holy Ghost can flow through us and effectively govern those around us. No God, no government. And if Satan dominates our lives, then we become slaves to a dictator.

Being conformed to Christ is not merely being born again. Being conformed to Christ is dying to self over many years. In patience possess ye your souls. Resting in Christ, abiding in Christ through trials and triumphs. Working out your salvation with fear and trembling. Sanctification is a continuing and gradual process.

Babylon Revisited - Counterfeit Christianity

Tower of Babel

Genesis 10: 8-10: "And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord."

Genesis 11: 1-9: "And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of the earth."

Isaiah 39: 5-7: "Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts: Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord. And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon."

Jeremiah 28: 14: "For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also."

Jeremiah 51: 6-8: "Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the Lord's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed."

Revelation 17: 14: "These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful."

The Lord led me out of the church back in 1991. I have visited some churches in my hitchhiking travels. There are good churches out there, but I would say that 80 to 90 % of the churches that say they are Christian are horribly conformed to the world (the spirit of Bablyon).

Revelation knowledge is the Rock that the church is built upon; the church is not built through the inventions or precepts of men. We need to be submitted to Christ everyday so that He can reveal His will to us. Satan cannot defeat this personal revelation knowledge. The people who are into the letter of Scripture and are not into the Spirit of God are already pawns of Satan; these people study Scripture and reject Christ (the anointing). "Come out from among them and be ye separate."

Those who abide in Christ (the Presence of God, Zion) are the only ones who will overcome the spirit of Babylon (confusion). "The anointing breaks the yoke of sin."

Excerpt from "The Hollow Men" by T.S. Eliot:

"We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!
Our dried voices, when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in dry grass
Or rats' feet over broken glass
In our dry cellar.

"Shape without form, shade without colour,
Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

"Those who have crossed
With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom
Remember us--if at all--not as lost
Violent souls, but only
As the hollow men
The stuffed men."

Like a Leaf on a River

Back in November of 2008, I was hitchhiking in eastern Idaho. I got dropped off in Rigby and started walking on this frontage road that ran parallel with U.S. 20. This car pulled up to me and stopped. There was a man and lady inside. They were Christians and we had a good chat about the things of God. They gave me a small booklet: Like a Leaf on a River: Guidance from Outside the Walls by Larry Meyers. I read it within the next day or so. It is really inspiring. Larry has a lot of depth and wisdom that the Lord has given him; this booklet really glorifies God.

Here are some quotes from Like a Leaf on a River:

"The greatest cathedrals in the world are only monuments to the ideals of men. God does not dwell in temples made with hands."

"It is the empty basket that is ready to be filled with fruit."

"Thoughts always generate to the past or the future. They are a wall between you and God. You must bring your thoughts back to the center of the universe which is now. The wall will come down when You choose to live with God in the center of the present moment; continual now, forever."

"The voice of God can only be found in the still depths of silence. Quiet yourself and wait upon the Lord. In time you will begin to hear His words. They will guide you in everything."

"Finding obedience, is only entering into the unity."

"Take a drop of water in your hand and drop it into the ocean. Can that drop be any longer identified as a single self, or has it now become one with the ocean? Lose your selfish self, and fall into God. Become one with Him."

"The world is a harlot, another lover. God will accept nothing short of all your heart. If the world has even a part of your heart, you have cheated God, but most of all, you have cheated yourself."

"If you can be manipulated or controlled, you are yet the servant of another."

"Do you know what you know about me from others, or have you found this out by yourself?" --Jesus

"To dwell in the secret place of God must truly be kept a secret. Would you tell the intimacies of marriage to strangers?"

"The New Testament refers to Jesus as savior seventeen times. The same book refers to Him as Lord nearly seven hundred times. Connect the dots."

[Blogwriter's note: The above quote is very significant. Many Christians know Jesus as savior, but they do not know Him as Lord. They do not know that Jesus is Lord over their circumstances, or that He engineers their circumstances. They need to get saved from their shallow relationship with Jesus, take up their cross, die to self and get into a deeper relationship with Him.]

"All the world operates on a system of manipulation and control. How is it that I have found this system within the walls of that which you call the church? There are tares among the wheat."

"The Church of our Lord has no walls, no structure, and no organization. And most of all, its leaders will not be men of pride, politics or manipulation."

"Jesus said, 'Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.' In the modern church there is the evidence of the gates of hell."

"Come out of her my people."

"And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him. --The Apostle Paul

"Life is just a series of little miracles."

"Our perceptions are so strangled by the ungodliness of the world that the occasional flash of truth is preceived as a miracle."

"The leaf does not concern itself with what might be around the next bend. It does not even have to remember to trust."

"The life of the leaf is the surrendered life, the yielded life."

"The teacher is only an old man dressed in rags. Everyone is thirsty and he is the one who carries the water."

These were just a few of the quotes in Larry's booklet. These quotes are gold, silver and precious stones from the Throneroom of Grace. I am very grateful that the Lord put Larry in my path back in Idaho.

There was no mailing address or email address on the booklet, but there was a telephone number: 425-346-5433

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.

At a Cafe in Merriman, Nebraska

U.S. Navy SEALs

Yesterday I hitchhiked from Valentine to Merriman. I phoned Steve and he drove to town and took me and his son, Will, to a local cafe for dinner. Steve and his wife Carol have a cattle ranch thirteen miles from Merriman. Their son, Brock, and their daughter, Tiffany, also work on the ranch. Steve had picked me up hitchhiking back in 2006, so I thought I would stop by and say hello.

Steve, Will and myself sat down at a table and ordered something to eat. A few minutes later, this other guy walked in and sat down with us. He looked like he was in his late 50s. His name was Chuck.

We talked about various things: ranching, hitchhiking, politics. Chuck then started talking about his experience in the Vietnam War. He was a Navy SEAL that had graduated from BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL) Training in 1972. Chuck talked at length about some of his firefights in the jungles of Southeast Asia. He said that the average life expectancy of a lieutenant in Vietnam was eleven minutes. Chuck was once shot out of a tree by an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade); he was providing covering fire for his team when the explosion of the grenade knocked him out of the tree. He had intense, penetrating eyes; it looked like he had been to hell and back.

I asked Chuck if he had seen the film We Were Soldiers and if it was a realistic account of combat in Vietnam. He said that he had seen the film and that it was very realistic. Chuck said that he had met Hal Moore (the author of the book We Were Soldiers) and thought that he was the best officer in Vietnam. I believe Moore had retired as a general in the U.S. Army.

Chuck had a son who fought recently in Afghanistan. He was an Airborne Ranger. Chuck talked a little about his son's combat experiences on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Some people think that the Navy SEALs are the best elite warriors in the world and some people think that the British SAS are the best. I asked Chuck if he had ever met any British SAS; he said that he had met a few. I could tell that Chuck knew where I was going with this: are the SAS the best warriors in the world? Chuck told me that the Israeli Special Forces were "deadly"; he had absolute respect for them and for Mossad (Israeli Intelligence). He said that the Israeli Special Forces were the best elite soldiers on the planet.

We finished our dinner and I shook Chuck's hand. It was a great honor to talk with a U.S. Navy SEAL.

I remember watching a documentary on President Harry Truman. Since a child, Truman had to wear glasses--he was pretty much blind without them. In a World War I photo of Captain Harry Truman, he had his glasses off. The commentator of the documentary said that Harry Truman had eyes of steel. Chuck, the Vietnam Veteran, had eyes of steel.

I stayed overnight at Steve and Carol's ranch. Steve, Carol, Tiffany and myself had excellent fellowship at the supper table. Tiffany was hoping to get into a Christian college in North Carolina. I told them a number of my stories of hitchhiking around the United States. They have a beautiful ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska. I was grateful to have met Steve's family. I also met Steve's dad and step-mom. Steve's dad writes for three newspapers in Nebraska and one in South Dakota. Steve's dad gave me a copy of a booklet that he had published; these were newspaper articles that were published during the previous year.

Right now I am in Chadron. I may be heading south to Alliance tomorrow.

A Ride in Nebraska back in 2006 or What Goes Around Comes Around

Yesterday I was looking at a couple of posts that I had on a thread on a website called Ranchers.net. This rancher from Merriman, Nebraska had picked me up in June of 2006; I guess I was heading to Washington, D.C. at the time. I remember that he was a Christian and that we had a really good talk. He dropped me off at a gas station in Cody, Nebraska where he took a photo of me with my backpack.

This rancher (called "Soapweed" on Ranchers.net) had several photos on that same thread and I looked at the photos for the first time yesterday. I showed these photos to my friends, Shawn and Theresa (who live in Valentine, Nebraska), and they said that they recognized the photo of the young man working on the windmill. They said that his dad used to go to their church in Cody some years ago. Soapweed took some very good photos.

Shawn and his wife took me to a farm just west of Ainsworth a few days ago to see a couple of their friends. Their names were Greg and Marla. Shawn asked Greg if he had ever picked up any hitchhikers. Greg said that he and his wife picked this hitchhiker up on U.S. 12 in Idaho in the fall of 2004. He then said that the hitchhiker sent him a book that he had written. Greg stopped to look for the book and then handed the book [typescript] to me. It was my book! [High Plains Drifter]

This lady that I met hitchhiking back in 2004 owned a print shop in Lewiston, Idaho. She told me to give her a floppy disk with my book on it and she would make photocopies and send it to anyone that I wanted. It is really incredible how the Lord works. What goes around comes around.
