Israel, Iraq and Egypt

In 1948 the Lord re-established the nation of Israel. The fact that President Truman was the first head of state to recognize the state of Israel was the main reason, I believe, President Truman was re-elected in 1948. Arguably, Israel is the most important nation on the planet because Israel gave us the Law, the Prophets, the New Testament and the Messiah: the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the first decade of the 21st Century, the Lord raised up President George W. Bush to take out Saddam Hussein (a Satanic stronghold) in Iraq. The Lord has done--and will continue to do--a powerful work in Iraq. Iraq is the cornerstone of the Middle East.

The Iraq War was NOT about oil, but about freedom: freedom from Islamo-Fascist Slavery. In God's economy, oil is secondary, freedom comes first. "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." But in the world's economy, oil IS important. As long as we continue to drill for oil and gas and mine coal, we are showing the Lord that we are subduing the earth (Hebrew kabash [subdue]--Genesis 1:28). We could call this The Oil-Gas-Coal Kabash. But this is a different issue and I don't want to get on some other tangent here.

Now we come to Egypt. The Lord began the Arab Spring to get rid of Hosni Mubarak and prepare the way for democratic elections and government in Egypt. Egypt--like Iraq--at one time was one of the cradles of civilization after the Lord destroyed/judged the earth in Noah's generation. Egypt is a great cornerstone in North Africa and maybe to the rest of Africa. As Egypt goes, so goes Africa(?).

We are now in the second decade of the 21st Century. If the first decade of the 21st Century was the decade of Iraqi beginnings, then the second decade of the 21st Century will be the decade of Egyptian beginnings.

Someone may ask, Isn't Israel the cornerstone of the Middle East? No. Israel is the cornerstone for the Lord's plan for the whole world. Israel is not a regional player, but a world player. Israel is an integral partner in the Israeli-British-American Military-Industrial Complex that the Lord is using to vanquish Islamo-Fascist Slavery in the world. Spiritual Judaeo-Christianity is growing stronger; Islamo-Fascist Slavery will ultimately wither on the vine.

In faith, I believe that, in the future, Israel, Iraq and Egypt will be a powerful trinity or alliance against radical Islam in the Middle East and North Africa. The Alpha and the Omega [Aleph/Tav] is embedded in Israel-Iraq-Egypt Bereshith (the Hebrew word bereshith means "in the beginning" or "beginnings").

Bereshith

[10 September 2011]

Yesterday, I got a ride with a young couple from Israel. He was from Hebron and she was from Bethlehem. They gave me a ride for ten miles and then dropped me off in Last Chance, Idaho, the next town north of Ashton. They said that they were Orthodox Jews and that they needed to stop travelling for the day and prepare supper before Shabbat (the Sabbath). It was late Friday afternoon and the Jewish Sabbath begins on Friday evening and lasts till Saturday evening.

He said something very interesting. He told me that a rabbi (probably in Israel) warned that Japan was going to suffer a nuclear catastrophe. The rabbi said this before the earthquake in Japan in March of this year. The day before the earthquake, the government of Japan signed some sort of deal with the Palestinians. When you oppose Israel, bad things happen to you. He who blesses Israel shall be blessed, he who curses Israel shall be cursed.

I know very little Hebrew, but I believe that that Israeli couple were speaking Hebrew with each other. When he dropped me off at the gas station in Last Chance, he asked me if I knew the Hebrew word bereshith. I was a bit surprised because I DID know what bereshith means. Bereshith means "in the beginning" or "beginnings". What are the odds of an Orthodox Jew asking me what a Hebrew word means when it is one of the few Hebrew words that I know? A Providential ride.

He also said that he noticed while travelling in the United States that Americans for the most part are polite, but lack in hospitality. Whereas in Israel, the people are not very polite, but are very hospitable. He said that there are a higher percentage of hitchhikers in Israel than in the United States.

The Last Supper

The Last Supper

Luke 22: 19-20: "And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you."

John 2: 18-22: "Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things? Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said."

John 6: 48-63: "I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

I Corinthians 10: 14-17: "Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread."

The Roman Catholic Church (and probably most Catholics) think that celebrating the Lord's Supper in the Mass means something. The Catholic Church says that the bread and wine are literally the body and blood of Jesus Christ. This is absolutely ridiculous and it is idolatry. The Catholic Church will use the term transubstantiation to explain why the bread and wine are the body and blood of Jesus Christ: this is philosophical and theological gobbledeegook.

If you look at the above Scriptures, Jesus says that He is the bread of life; He is very clear. When He broke bread and drank wine with his disciples at the last supper, He was pointing towards His death on the Cross at Calvary. Jesus' body was broken and His blood shed for those who are called to eternal life. If we abide in Him spiritually, our lives will be living sacrifices--broken bread and poured-out wine--for others. We abide in Him spiritually--in faith--not by eating physical bread and physical wine. Scripture is very clear: Jesus is NOT in the bread and wine; He said "Do this in REMEMBRANCE of Me."

When Jesus spoke of His temple, He wasn't talking about a stone and mortar temple in Jerusalem built with human hands. He is speaking figuratively. When He speaks of the bread and wine at the last supper, He is speaking figuratively of His death on the Cross.

The carnal mind does not receive the things of the Spirit, so the carnal mind has to invent religious rituals and liturgies to make the sinful, carnal mind (pride) feel good about itself; look at all the man-made rituals and liturgies in Protestant and Catholic churches. The carnal mind is ridiculous and idolatrous.  John 6: 60-63:  "This is an hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."

In I Corinthians 10: 14-17, the inspired writer is warning Christians to FLEE from idolatry. He probably knew that the carnal mind would turn the last supper into some man-made idolatrous ritual. How do we have communion with bread and wine? We don't:  we eat it and drink it---it is a physical, bodily function.  Communion is spiritual; communion with the Father is accessed through faith in the Finished Work of the Cross. "For we being many are one bread, and one body." Does this mean that we are one big loaf of multigrain bread? No, the writer is talking about a spiritual Body of Christ, bread from Heaven.

If we abide in Christ (die to self), we are broken bread and poured-out wine--a living sacrifice--for others to feed upon. We are spiritual food for a sin-sick world hungry for Jesus, Bread from Heaven.

Chapter XVII
"At the Work of Organizing"
1667-1670

"When we came before Dublin [Ireland], we took boat and went ashore; and the earth and air smelt, methought, of the corruption of the nation, so that it yielded another smell to me than England did; which I imputed to the Popish massacres that had been committed, and the blood that had been spilt in it, from which a foulness ascended."

"Passing thence about four and twenty miles, we came to another place, where we had a very good, refreshing meeting; but after it some Papists that were there were angry, and raged very much. When I heard of it, I sent for one of them, who was a schoolmaster; but he would not come.

"Thereupon I sent a challenge to him, with all the friars and monks, priests and Jesuits, to come forth, and 'try their God and their Christ, which they had made of bread and wine,' but no answer could I get from them. I told them they were worse than the priests of Baal; for Baal's priests tried their wooden god, but these durst not try their god of bread and wine; and Baal's priests and people did not eat their god as these did, and then make another."

Shiloh

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.

The Second Coming

New Jerusalem is a spiritual city

It was the last week of July in 1982 that I asked Jesus Christ into my life. I was working on my dad's cattle farm in Iowa. I had been suicidal since the age of fifteen. My dad put me in a mental hospital for several days earlier that summer. He had me pay the hospital bill. The psychiatrist diagnosed me as suffering from depression and gave me some medication which didn't do any good.

I remember the morning that I asked Christ into my life. I walked over to the window of my bedroom and looked outside. I then did a 360, turning and looking around at the walls of my bedroom, then returning back to the window.

I said something like, "There is nothing on this planet; there is no reason for me to be here." I was really sick of living and daydreamed of blowing my brains out with a gun.

I then walked over to my bed and got on my knees and said, "Christ, if you are God, will you please come into my life." It was the toughest prayer I have ever prayed in my life. I don't know why, but I didn't feel the Presence of God until three days later. I knew I had eternal life.

For the next three or four years, I went through a time of great tribulation (purification). It was very unpleasant and I still struggled with suicidal thoughts. This was a time of dying to self (I am still dying to self) and letting the Lord have His way with me. He was pruning my vine and it was very painful.

During this three or four years of tribulation, I spent time in three more mental hospitals. This one psychiatrist diagnosed me as manic-depressive. I had to pay another $4,000.00 in hospital bills (this wiped out my hard-earned life savings). My dad later told me that he paid for all of these hospital bills. If I have any integrity in me, it sure didn't come from my dad.

In October of 1985, I prayed another prayer of desperation. I said, "Lord, either You are going to heal me of manic-depression or else I am going to blow my brains out." Less than three months later, my faith in Jesus Christ healed me of manic-depression (demonic bondage). This healing began on the 7th of January in 1986 at a monastery in Nebraska.

I drove back home and told my parents that the Lord healed me of manic-depression. Their reaction was very unfavorable. My dad occasionally would mock me and make fun of me and ask me if I was still on my medication (I was on lithium and a low dosage of an anti-psychotic, which didn't do much good) (I told them that I was getting off of my medication). The mocking by my dad got so bad, that for three days during Easter Week--Thursday, Friday and Saturday--I had this hot, searing pain in my hands, my feet, my side and there was a circle of pain around my head. It was very painful; it really wore me out. I was working on my dad's farm and it was very painful to walk and driving the tractor was difficult. On Easter Sunday, the pain was gone.

When one door closes, another door opens. My family did not receive my powerful testimony of healing, so I left my dad's farm in April of 1986. Eventually I started hitchhiking around the western United States. Being healed of manic-depression and having a sound, healthy mind was absolutely liberating. It was like I had been born again all over again. My hitchhiking led me to central Washington.

In September of 1986, I was living at a Christian hostel in Ellensburg, Washington. It was then that the Lord came to me a Second Time (The Second Coming). Since September of 1986, there has been a constant burning in my forehead (the Presence of God).

Within a week of experiencing The Second Coming, I was attacked by the devil. All day long, there was this evil presence all over me; it was like someone had put a heavy blanket of oppression on me. I got very angry and shouted, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, begone, Satan!" Suddenly, the evil presence was gone. It was such a relief. Praise the Lord!

The Second Coming has been happening to purified vessels (I am still being purified; the Lord is still delivering me of demons) since after the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that the first man to experience The Second Coming was the Apostle John.

John 21: 20-23: "Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me. Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?"

I have been living in New Jerusalem (it is a spiritual city) since September of 1986. I am very grateful for what the Lord has done in my life.

"The Kingdom comes not with observation."

[The Kingdom of Heaven is not seen by our physical eyes, it is perceived in our spirit by the power of the Holy Ghost in spiritual (purified, dead to self) believers.  Also, I would like to add, that The Second Coming IS NOT the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  I was baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues in September of 1988--two years after Jesus came to me spiritually The Second Time.]

Chapter IX
"A Visit to the Southern Counties Which Ends in Launceston Jail"
1655-1656

"While I was in prison here, the Baptists and Fifth-monarchy men prophesied that this year Christ should come, and reign upon earth a thousand years. And they looked upon this reign to be outward: when He was come inwardly in the hearts of His people, to reign and rule; where these professors* would not receive Him. So they failed in their prophecy and expectation, and had not the possession of Him. But Christ is come, and doth dwell and reign in the hearts of His people. Thousands, at the door of whose hearts He hath been knocking have opened to Him, and He is come in, and doth sup with them, and they with Him; the heavenly supper with the heavenly and spiritual man. So many of these Baptists and Monarchy-people turned the greatest enemies to the followers of Christ; but He reigns in the hearts of His saints over all their envy."

*professor--someone who professes to be a Christian, but is not really saved. Someone who has Christ in his head, but rejects Christ in his spirit. Outward (false) salvation versus inward (true) salvation: "The letter kills [outward], but the Spirit gives life [inward]."

Chapter XIV
"Labors, Dangers and Sufferings"
1661-1662

"But I told them that the whore was alive in them, and was not burned with God's fire, nor judged in them with the same power and Spirit the Apostles were in; and that their looking for Christ's coming outwardly to set up His kingdom was like the Pharisees' 'Lo here,' and 'Lo there.' But Christ was come, and had set up His kingdom above sixteen hundred years ago, according to Nebuchadnezzar's dream and Daniel's prophecy, and He had dashed to pieces the four monarchies, the great image, with its head of gold, breast and arms of silver, belly and thighs of brass, legs of iron, and its feet part of iron part of clay; and they were all blown away with God's wind, as the chaff in the summer threshing-floor."

Chapter XVII
"At the Work of Organizing"
1667-1670

"Whilst I was under this spiritual suffering the state of the New Jerusalem which comes down out of heaven was opened to me; which some carnal-minded people had looked upon to be like an outward city dropped out of the elements. I saw the beauty and glory of it, the length, the breadth, and the height thereof, all in complete proportion. I saw that all who are within the Light of Christ, and in His faith, of which He is the author; and in the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, which Christ and the holy prophets and apostles were in; and within the grace, and truth, and power of God, which are the walls of the city; -- I saw that such are within the city, are members of it, and have right to eat of the Tree of Life, which yields her fruit every month, and whose leaves are for the healing of the nations.

"Many things more did I see concerning the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem, which are hard to be uttered, and would be hard to be received. But, in short, this holy city is within the Light, and all that are within the Light, are within the city; the gates whereof stand open all the day (for there is no night there), that all may come in."

Below is a comment by Jerry Collins that is right on target when describing The Second Coming.  Jerry Collins' comment is #20 on the post "Is the Japan Earthquake in Bible Prophecy".

  1. jerry collins on April 9th, 2012 7:57 pm
"I agree with the notes posted on 7/15/2011 by the filter. Jesus did indeed tell his disciples that there were some standing there that would see the kingdom come before they died. Please note that jesus was asked about the kingdom and responded “the kingdom of God cometh not with observation (you can’t see it) neither shall you say lo here or lo there for behold, the kingdom of God is within you”. This is really clear don’t you think? The kingdom is a spiritual kingdom and can’t be seen. The point most people miss is that the kingdom did come just as he said (in their lifetime). Read acts 2 and you will find that Peter did not say this is similar to what the prophets predicted but he said "this IS THAT which was spoken by the prophet Joel that it will come to pass IN THE LAST DAYS that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh…"  The last days according to Peter were right then and any other interpretation would call Peter’s statement untrue.  The last days simply meant the end of the first covenant and the start of the new whereby we can all (Jews and gentiles alike) enter the kingdom. This is why in Colossians Paul stated that “he HATH (already) translated us into THE KINGDOM OF HIS DEAR SON”. If Paul could get into the kingdom then, why are we still looking for his kingdom? Jesus also said ” My kingdom is not of this world”; should we deny that he knew what he was talking about. Another thought … in Matthew 24 Jesus was talking directly to HIS DISCIPLES and them ALONE! He never even hinted that anything he spoke about would happen thousands of years later. Read this for yourself and see if this is not true. He never said the frequency of earthquakes meant a sign of anything… same about famines, pestilence, etc. He simply said these are the beginning of sorrows. All this stuff about these things being signs of the last days is false and manmade, it is not in Matthew 24. If you don’t believe this, show me THE VERSE that says otherwise. Also read Matthew 24 verse 34 which clearly says "THIS GENERATION (the one they were living in) shall not pass till ALL these things be fulfilled." There are 15 other places where Jesus used the phrase “this generation or a wicked and adulterous generation” and no one has any doubt that he meant the one present at that time, yet people try to twist his words to fit their purpose. I will take the words of Christ over any theologian any day. Jesus was describing the destruction of the temple and the end of the Jews as the covenant people, not some end of the world scenario.  (As a matter of fact, the Bible never mentions the end of time; Daniel calls it The time of the end. The end of what? Genesis 8 says God will never again destroy every living thing. All these rapture theories describe everyone except the raptured ones being killed contrary to God’s word.)  I know that many will disregard this because they have always been taught otherwise; please take this test (as a dear friend and minister used to tell me)… Don’t take my word for it, read it for yourself and see if everything I have said is true. God bless you all and I pray you too will be translated into his kingdom while here on earth."

Notes from Zechariah

Dreams from the LORD 2011
16 January 2011

Zechariah 1: 6: “Like as the Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.”

Barack Obama is in the White House because there is so much sin in the United States—God’s judgment.

Zechariah 2: 5: “For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.”

“A wall of fire.” Glorified body. Spiritual rapture. Intercession. “At the rebuke of His countenance they fled.” Holy Ghost Fire.

Zechariah 2: 7: “Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.”

“Come out from among them and be ye separate.”

Zechariah 4: 6: “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

The sword has power. The pen is mightier than the sword. The Holy Ghost is more powerful than the pen and the sword.

Zechariah 9: 13: “When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man.”

We are the weapon that the Lord wields in His hand. In the New Testament, the jawbone of an ass is a subject; in the Old Testament, the jawbone is an object. If we abide in Christ (Zion), we will defeat the world system (Greece).

Zechariah 12: 3-5: “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. In that day, saith the Lord, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.”

Those who attack the believers who abide in the Presence of God (Zion, Jerusalem) shall be confounded and defeated.

Zechariah 12: 6: “In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.”

New Jerusalem. The Kingdom of Heaven. The Holy Ghost Fire shall defeat the satanic strongholds that keep people in bondage. “Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.” Alpha and Omega [Aleph/Tav]. From here to here. “Be still and know that I am God.” Abide in the peace and stillness of Christ (Jesus, the Sabbath Rest) and watch your enemies (demons) scatter.

Zechariah 13: 6: “And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.”

“The house of my friends.” Jesus was rejected and crucified by most Jewish church people. Jesus is rejected today by most Christian church people. Either most people will never learn or a sin is a sin is a sin and most people don’t like to be convicted of sin (so get rid of the guy who convicts us of sin, but do not get rid of our own sin).

Zechariah 13: 9: “And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.”

Believers purified by the Holy Ghost Fire. They will hear the voice of the Lord and obey the Lord (the Word, not the Bible).

Zechariah 14: 17-18: “And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be a plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

The people who refuse to enter into the Presence of God will not be blessed; they will live in spiritual dryness.

The Hidden Streets of Babylon

The Hidden Streets of Babylon
By Tim Shey

Adulterated
With selfwork
Intoxicated
By traditions of men
Stumble down the hidden streets of Babylon
You are a puppet on a hellish string

Many words are spoken
Sterile speech into vacant air
This is how the heathen pray
The Lord wants your heart
No faith, no life, no Jesus
I am surrounded by white-washed walls

Summa Theologica is for aesthetes
Solus ecclesia echoes nothing
Most Latin is Greek to me

Rituals and liturgy
Feed the pride
Of the unsaved seminarian

The Council of Whitby
Ushered in the Dark Ages
We have strayed
From the Word of God
And His inspired Scriptures

Idolatry is a habit
Worn by blind people
Watch them
Groping, crawling
In a dark, overchurched ditch

Living by sight
And the wisdom of this world
Is fashionable and insane
Its compass points the maddening crowd
To nowhere
It paves a smooth, broad path
To perdition

Shiloh

Shiloh
By Tim Shey

Brutal deathdance;
My eyes weep blood.
Pharisees smile like vipers,
They laugh and mock their venom:
Blind snakes leading
The deaf and dumb multitude.

Where are my friends?
The landscape is dry and desolate.
They have stretched my shredded body
On this humiliating tree.

The hands that healed
And the feet that brought good news
They have pierced
With their fierce hatred.

The man-made whip
That opened up my back
Preaches from a proper pulpit.
They sit in comfort:
That vacant-eyed congregation.
The respected, demon-possessed reverend
Forks his tongue
Scratching itchy ears
While Cain bludgeons
Abel into silence.

My flesh in tattered pieces
Clots red and cold and sticks
To the rough-hewn timber
That props up my limp, vertical carcase
Between heaven and earth.
My life drips and puddles
Below my feet,
As I gaze down dizzily
On merciless eyes and dagger teeth.

The chapter-and-versed wolves
Jeer and taunt me.
Their sheepwool clothing
Is stained black with the furious violence
Of their heart of stone.
They worship me in lip service,
But I confess,
I never knew them
(Though they are my creation).

My tongue tastes like ashes:
It sticks to the roof of my mouth.
I am so thirsty.
This famine is too much for me.
The bulls of Bashan have bled me white.
Papa, into your hands
I commend my Spirit.
